I only found out from Twitter this morning that today is International Women's Day! There seem to be quite a few links, including youtube videos, floating around. The most scientific and unexpected one for me has been CERN's involvement. They've put up live videos of the control rooms, several interviews in various languages, lots of posters to download, and why International Women's Day is important. Well worth a read.

A poster from this CERN link (found on the original link), with this caption: "The Women who run the biggest machine ever built by Man: The complexity of LHC and the women in charge of it."

Do you have any cool links for International Women's Day? Please come and post them here - doesn't matter if they're late! Smiley

Phil Plait wrote about International Women's Day a year ago; today he tweeted his post of 2009, with the sorrowful comment that "nothing has changed".

Do you agree? Disagree? What about Helen getting the IAU resolution passed? Grin Although 1 year is a very short time. In the meantime, both his articles and the comments below it are very well worth a read.
